winter break recap!

CHRISTMAS was subdued this year.. that sounds funny, but thats the best way i can describe it.  sophie came up from irvine for the weekend. it was nice to have her around.  mom worked christmas morning, as usual.  naturally, i savored every moment cuddling in my cozy comforter until she came home around noon. my mom has offered to work holidays for a few years now because the other doctors have young kids or grandkids to spoil, i mean, spend time with.  after opening presents with mom, me and sophie took my dad and his doggies to the dog park so they could run around.  caesar has gotten to big since i last saw him.  hes half pit, half german shepherd. 100+ lbs..good thing hes a lover! oh and he doesnt jump on me when i walk in the door anymore. thank goodness!  the other dog is named pluto aka napoleon. hes probably some mix of chihuahua and terrier and likes to bark at every other dog in the park.. hes pretty funny. it took the dogs a few hours to use up all their energy and by then we were all pretty hungry so we dropped them off at home and went to get chinese food for a late lunch.  the rest of the day went well. lots of laying around watching movies.. :)
the next day me, soph and mom went to old sacramento to wander around before we watched invictus at downtown plaza. i thought it was pretty good, but i might be biased because i love morgan freeman.  it was kinda depressing that the mall was SUPER empty.  i know downtown plaza has been on the decline for the last 10 years, but i expected at least a small crowd on the day after christmas.  i shouldnt complain though.. i dont like crowds anyway. we also took another trip up the foothills while my sister was home. i love going to nevada city and auburn at christmas. the old historic areas are so charming and the people are so friendly. its a nice way to spend time with family too.
after my sister left i spent the rest of the break hanging out at home reading with nekobutt or at starbucks with friends.  i really liked the book me and claire read together.. it gave me a lot to think about and work on. it was really awesome getting to know her better through it too. i hope we can do it again on our next break. nicky and grant drove up to sac from tracy to go to dinner and kings game with me and kristin. it was nice to hang out with them and it was nickys first nba game so im glad i got to be apart of that. it was bittersweet going back to sb.. theres a part of me that wants to stay in sac and see my friends everyday, but i also love my independence in sb.  i dont have the past lingering over my thoughts quite as much and i always have school to focus on... though i havent done much of that lately. heh heh. 
ive been feeling weird lately, not quite myself.. i think im just trying to get back into sb mode. even this blog entry doesnt sound right to me. so if i havent been very connected, im sorry. im coming back guys, just give me a minute :)
